Supervisory Activities Department of EMERCOM of Russia has accredited our laboratory to test the product against requirements of "The Technical regulations on fire safety requirements". The product list is given by The Accreditation Scope section.

Our laboratory also has a right to check the product against the fire safety requirements of the facultative certification system. The right is affirmed by the certificate of authorization issued by the association of &quo;National Federation of Organizations for Fire Safety&quo;.

The "PozhStandart" laboratory is a test system consisted of five furnaces and numerous installations, each one of which tests a certain type of the product.

The laboratory has the following installations:

1. The installation to rate inflammability of construction materials, GOST 30402-96

The installation to rate inflammability of construction materials, GOST 30402-96

The installation serves to test inflammability of construction materials, aimed to rate inflammability behavior of the materials in accord with the GOST 30402-96 procedure.

The installation operating principle is the adjustable radiant thermal flow of 5 to 50 kW/m2 to be on upper surface of a sample of the tested material. There is a movable torch of the flow to regularly impact on the sample centre at the distance of 10 mm to ignite gaseous products the sample emits. The stable flame combustion having arisen, this instant time is recorded.

2. The installation to test floor and roof coverings against flame spread, GOST Р 51032-97

Here is the installation for experimental determination of flame spread categories as to materials of floor and roof covering surface, aimed to determine a critical surface density of a thermal flow in accord with the GOST Р 51032-97 requirements.

3. The installation to test construction materials against combustibility, GOST 30244-94

The installation serves to determine combustibility categories of combustible construction materials.

4. The installation to determine toxicity indices of polymeric materials’ combustion products, GOST 12.1.044-89

The Installation serves to rate toxicity of volatile products created by combustion of solid nonmetal materials in air.

5. The versatile installation to test materials with a needle-shaped flame torch and a Bunsen burner, GOST 27484-87 and GOST 28779-90

The versatile installation serves to test electric insulating materials and electrical equipment with a needle-shaped flame torch and a Bunsen burner in accord with GOST 27484-87 and GOST 28779-90.

The installation serves to test wires or cables of bunch laying against flame non-spread. Size of charred or flame damaged part of a sample determines wires or cables to be classified as flame spread material or flame non-spread material. The installation operating principle is based on heating the samples by a gas torch flame.

The installation for testing a construction material against incombustibility serves to classify the material as combustible or incombustible category.

The installation operating principle is the following. A heating element heats a reaction chamber of a heater. Control and adjustment of the specified temperature are performed by a power controller and a thermal converter which is mounted on side of a tubular heater.

The installation serves to test an insulated single rise cable or wire against flame non-spread.

9. The installation to determine a smoke generation index of solid substances and materials, GOST 12.1.044-89

The installation serves to test solid substances and materials to determine their smoke generation indices.

The installation operating principle is based on the following. A flow of light is slackening when passing through smoke generated by thermal decomposition or combustion of a solid substance or material. A photometric system evaluates a value of the slack.

10. The testing furnace with a fuel feeding and firing system to test a building structure against fire resistance

The testing furnace with a fuel feeding and firing system to test a building structure against fire resistance

The furnace serves to rate a fire resistance capacity of supporting, self-supporting, and hanging walls, partitions, laps, and tops, as well as other supporting and filler structures, doors, trapdoors, elevator hoistway doors, and gateways aimed to fill recesses of walls, partitions, and laps.

The furnace operating principle is based on an estimation of a time interval between the beginning of thermal impact on a building structure and the coming of one or several (one by one) limit states of fire resistance, with taking a functional area of the structure into account.

The test equipment also has the installation for a firing test of small-size samples of frameworks, the installation for a thermal physic test of small-size fragments of flatworks and structural units, the installation for an estimation of a fire resistance capacity of cable laying.

All the installations of our laboratory are perfectly new and fully conform to rules and standards of Russian Federation. The testing is aimed to a fire safety obligatory and facultative certification. In the course of the testing, our engineers follow procedures of GOSTs of Russia. The testing over, a client is given a test record sheet which is the basis to issue a fire safety certificate.
